TINY kingcakes this year. The medium is about half of the size it was last year and it was thin. It was $18.75 before tax. I regularly buy kingcakes from Haydels during the Mardi Gras season. I considered theirs to be the best. For the past several years I have ordered 8 kingcakes to bring to friends in Florida when we would go on vacation. Not this year. Inflation or not, this is not a good deal. Haydel's, prove me wrong.
I recently celebrated my grandson's first birthday, and I can't express enough how delighted we were with the cake from Haydel’s Bakery in New Orleans. It was an absolute showstopper! The "Wild One" theme was flawlessly executed with a delightful array of safari animals, and the handmade tiger on top was just precious.
Not only was it a feast for the eyes, but the taste was equally phenomenal. The top layer with vanilla and lemon filling was a burst of refreshing flavors, while the bottom layer of chocolate was pure indulgence.
The attention to detail and the sheer beauty of the cake left our guests impressed, and my grandson adored his special smash cake. Needless to say, it was a smash hit!
We're incredibly pleased with our experience at Haydel’s Bakery. We will undoubtedly be returning for future celebrations. Highly recommended for both the visual masterpiece and the scrumptious flavors!
My wife loves their Russian cake. They also sell King Cakes and they ship all around the U. S. I recommend if you are in the area and would like really good bakery goods give yourself a treat. Your worth it. I like the eclairs.
The place has good petite fours if you don’t get some dried out ones, but normally fresh. It’s a decent bakery and outputs a lot average stuff. King cakes better get a filled one because they are dry and lacking cinnamon, but they know how to toss some colored sugar on it. It’s a good place to try and then probably only go back occasionally for certain things. People were nice and service was good.
I love the cake and the Place It self. I rushed to get there after school. Made it to Haydels at 4:59 and the door was lock. Ryan came and unluck the door and gave me cake on him. I had been craving some Russian Cake, and there is not to many place to get it. I was so thankful. Definitely a place to visit just for the atmosphere. Will definitely be back
They have everything I ever imagined (except donuts, that's down the street, by they've got giant exclaims and danishes and cinnamon rolls!) AND MORE! they have something for everyone!!
Once a month I go here and load up on several items for the household to try throgh our week!
It's always a tasty tour of the sweet tooth's dream!
P.s. I'm from 13 hours north and their cheesecake has a specific taste to it, each one/type, so it must be a family recipe! I wasn't partial to it, but I just must be used to the Midwest recipes or Midwest dairies!!(e.g. prairie farms)
I just picked up a cake I paid an additional cost to add roses to this birthday cake. They only added four roses and they were small compared to other cakes I’ve seen decorated by Rouses! It looked as though a high school cooking class had decorated this cake. Had I had the time I would have decorated the cake myself. Maybe Haydel’s should contract out other grocery bakeries to decorate their cakes in the future.
I'm so appreciative of everything Haydel's did for us words can't express how thankful I am. I've heard so many of our family and friends say it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Our groom's cake was a king cake and it was delicious too! The wedding was absolutely a dream come true and everything was beyond amazing. If you're looking for a bakery for your wedding, I would highly recommend Haydel's!
